We continuously strive to improve our performance and ensure that we keep up to date with the latest developments in the industry to remain a leader in our field. Como has won several Health & Safety awards which demonstrate our commitment.

Our health and safety principles are embedded within our overall project delivery ethos which is based around innovative, efficient and effective management. The prevention of accidents and ill health is a priority for the Como management team. The use of simple, but effective safety performance monitoring tools and an in house online system allows us to monitor, analyse trends and proactively target issues. A behavioural management programme has recently been launched within the business and embraces our philosophy of operative led improvement programmes.

Como recognises that effective health and safety management can only be sustained by having a competent workforce delivering our projects. We have a robust training programme which ensures that the skills and knowledge of our workforce is always up to date. Using a wide range of training and educational methods we are committed to providing every employee with a minimum of five training days a year and in 2007 we achieved an average of six days per person.

To maintain high standards and improvements at delivery stage we ensure that we select partners who share our passion and commitment to health and safety. We engage with our supply chain to achieve our expectations and together create safe, healthy environments to work in.
