Information

Mace Group is project managing the delivery of the Arcapita Mosque, part of the Arcapita Headquarters project within the Bahrain Bay Development off the north coast of Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain.

The mosque is one of three unique mosques within the Bahrain Bay Development, and is due for completion in the second quarter of 2010.

The mosque comprises a concrete shell that is clad internally and externally with natural stone.

A single internal volume creates a hugely impressive main prayer hall. The prayer hall for women only is located on level two. Accommodation is also provided for the ablution facilities, plant, and living quarters for the Imam.

Natural light is provided through 40 offset feature windows that are cast into three of the faces of the structure. The Quibla wall retains this feature externally, with the internal wall fully clad in rough finish natural stone.

Externally a freestanding minaret and landscaped water pool complete the works and the building's main services are routed from the main Arcapita building.
