Utilities team wins extra work on Thameslink Programme

Mace Group's utilities team has been awarded a contract extension with Network Rail. The team will take over the management of all utility diversions for Blackfriars station, which is one of a number of stations being upgraded as part of the Thameslink Programme.

The project comprises diversions, removals and new connections for electricity, gas, water and
telecommunications. The project team have negotiated discounts and avoided large down-payments that can be missed by contracting companies, as a result of their combined knowledge, experience and relationships with local utility companies.

Director of Utilities, Andy Sharples said: "Excellent relationships with the local utility companies and the team's knowledge of the process has led to clients receiving substantial savings that they were not aware of."
