Mace wins London Borough of Southwark framework

26/08/2008

Mace Group has won a four year role on the London Borough of Southwark's project management services framework.

Mace secured the role on the basis of its experience in the UK local government sector and demonstrable project management rigour relevant to the local authority’s financial and procurement processes. As one of only two companies appointed to the framework, Mace will be working for the borough on numerous key projects. This builds on Mace’s considerable experience of delivering services through more than eighty public sector frameworks – at both national and local levels.

Director for the public sector David Bill said: ‘Mace is delighted to work with Southwark on this
important framework. We believe that frameworks deliver best value to local authorities as they allow an engagement based on partnership and real innovation to develop. Southwark is an exciting part of London at present with major regeneration and education investment taking place. Mace is looking forward to being part of that successful delivery team.’

While the full scope is yet to be agreed, it is expected that housing renewal and (non-BSF)
education projects will form a major part of the overall framework. Mace has considerable experience in the London Borough of Southwark having been responsible for much of the More London development including City Hall. Projects currently underway include the Tate Modern extension and The Shard London Bridge.
