Mace appointed to get Colchester's Visual Arts Facility back on track

13/06/2009
Mace Group has been appointed by Colchester Borough Council (CBC) via the Smart EAST framework to provide project management and associated services on the Colchester Visual Arts Facility.
Mace will provide an assessment as to what will be required to complete the project based on the hourly rates set out in the framework agreement, which will not increase the overall budget for the project.
Councillor Paul Smith, culture and diversity portfolio holder for CBC said: "We are clearly delighted to have secured the services of such a reputable organisation as Mace and we are very much looking forward to completing the VAF. It is hoped that with their help and expertise we can complete the assessments as quickly as possible and start work again. Initially Mace is going to have to work out how much it is going to cost to complete the building. Following this initial work there is every possibility that we will employ their services on a longer term basis through to completion."
Group director, Mark Holmes said: "Mace is delighted to join the team dedicated to delivering an iconic building and visual arts facility to Colchester. There are a number of challenges ahead and we are looking forward to getting on with the task in hand."
